Is it safe to book tours through Kofa?

Yes. Every operator on Kofa passes our KYC/KYB verification before any trip goes live, and your payment is protected — operators are only paid after your trip is completed. You never pay a stranger directly.

How are operators verified?

Operators must pass business and identity verification — including CAC (corporate registration), operator licences and permits, government ID, and proof of liability insurance. Documents are reviewed by our team before any listing goes live. Look for the “Verified operator” badge on every trip.

If I need to cancel, what's Kofa's refund policy?

Refunds slide with how far out you cancel: 30+ days before the trip → 100% refund; 15–29 days → 75%; 7–14 days → 50%; 3–6 days → 25%; less than 72 hours or no-show → no refund. Some listings set their own custom policy, so always check the specific trip's cancellation terms before booking.

What if the operator cancels my trip?

You get a full refund of everything you paid — including the service fee — typically within 5–10 business days. Operators who repeatedly cancel confirmed bookings are removed from the platform.

What about natural disasters, government actions, or events outside anyone's control?

These count as force majeure. We assess each situation case-by-case and communicate a decision within 72 hours. Outcomes can include rescheduling, travel credit, or a cash refund depending on the circumstances.

What happens if something goes wrong during the trip?

Raise a dispute through the platform and your funds are frozen — the operator isn't paid until the issue is resolved. Kofa's team mediates, and approved refunds are processed in 5–10 business days. Report any booking errors within 24 hours of confirmation.

How do I pay for a trip?

You pay securely in Nigerian Naira via Paystack or Flutterwave — card, bank transfer, or USSD. Most trips take a deposit up front, with the balance due before departure. Your payment is safe and operators are only paid after your trip ends.

Do you store my card details?

No. Kofa never stores full card data. Our payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave) handle payment securely and we only keep tokenised references and the last 4 digits for receipts and fraud prevention. BVN, when required, is processed by the payment processor — not stored by Kofa.

Is my personal data safe?

Yes. Kofa is NDPR-compliant (and aligned with GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA). You have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email info@kofa.africa to reach our Data Protection Officer.

How does Kofa use cookies?

Only strictly-necessary cookies are on by default — for login, checkout, and security. Analytics and marketing cookies stay off until you opt in, and Decline All has equal prominence with Accept All. You can update your choices anytime from the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
